The first segment of this planting project, as authorized by Seaside Park resolution 2020-01, was completed this past October as 96 good sized shrubs were put on the west side of the dunes between 10th Ave. and 14th Ave. The other area in town with the same problem (almost no vegetation except dune grass which is the variety that will die back in a few years) is the north side of town between Stockton Ave. and N Street. We plan to do a planting there in March. Money is being put in the Borough’s 2021 budget but will not be available to fund the March planting.
We will need about $2000 for about 100 plants. If you would like to help, please send a check made out to the Seaside Park Beautification Committee with a note on the lower left stating “SSPK NVPP” and mail it to the Committee at P.O. Box 84, Seaside Park, NJ 08752. If you have any questions, please contact Bob Hopkins, the Volunteer Coordinator at 973-903-3198.
